Amsterdam – Salsa Night

It was raining as we arrived in Amsterdam, our new home for another 3 days. The campsite had a rather hippy feel about it, very friendly, very laid back and the smell of dope overwhelming. Apparently it was Salsa night in the bar so after having gone through the setup checklist (in the rain) and in need of a drink, we wrapped up well and headed over to the bar, dubious as to what awaited us. The place was leaping and the party in full swing. The band were excellent and just what was needed to forget the rain. The dancing was amazing and the clothes and shoes even more spectacular. Do people really come camping with their salsa dresses and shoes? We felt rather clunky in our wellies and anoraks but were soon divested of our outer clothing and dancing with the rest.
